A spot on the Russian river with access up near the road that's not actually part of a park but still has public use. This is where the locals go to swim on the river. Supposedly used the access is to the south west of the marker behind a singular concrete berm on the north side of River road. You can kick off a float here or just hangout on the sandy beach (Steelhead upstream is more rocky). Great place to sunbath or just have a beach day. You WILL meet some interesting characters. One time I met a goat.
Park along the main road to prevent getting a parking ticket. There is parking on the frontage (Old River Road) road but it only fits about 3 cars and is only between the two "Parking Begins" and "Parking Ends" signs. On busy days the Sheriff's Department WILL come through and ticket everyone who's illegally parked, and I've ever seen the Highway Patrol ticket people on behalf of the Sheriff's.
This is a swimming spot with a sandy beach!
